BE FILLED WITH SPIRIT |
|
Being filled with the Spirit and not grieving the
Holy Spirit
Ephesians 5:18-20
“And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;
Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and
making melody in your heart to the Lord; Giving thanks always for all things
unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;”
Apostle Paul writes, “…be not drunk with wine..”.
In his epistle to Ephesians, Paul exhorts them not to be drunk with excessive wine,
but be filed with the Spirit. It is abundantly clear from the Scriptures
that any manner intoxication is not good and thus it is prohibited. In the
process of distillation a kind of poisonous substance is produced that helps in
preserving the product for a longer duration. When some one is drunk with wine, one is prone to
commit all manner of excessive wickedness, particularly resorting to
uncleanness.
Drunkenness and uncleanness usually go hand in glove with each other. He
writes that this sin makes men insolent and outrageous. The prodigal son
spent all that he had in a far off place in his riotous living and became a
pauper. (Luke 15:13 "And not many days after the younger son gathered all
together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his
substance with riotous living"). Ephesians, who
were guilty of excessive drunkenness, were not only exhorted to abandon this
sin, but speak to one to another in spiritual songs making melody in their
hearts to the Lord. Excessive drinking of wine makes a person unsafe
losing control on himself/herself that leads in to debauchery/harlotry,
sensuality, developing lustful thoughts They are also exhorted to give thanks always for all
things unto God, the Father in heaven in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus
Christ. When one is filled with Holy Spirit the fruits of the Holy Spirit
are seen in one. The heart and spirit
of the saved ones is full with joy and happiness in the Lord. The musical
melody that is produced in the heart and soul of a person will be in harmony
with the tune that comes on to the tongue.
Apostle Paul describes the difference between works of the flesh and fruits of
the spirit in Galatians 5:18-23 "But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not
under the law. Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these;
Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft,
hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings,
murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before,
as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not
inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace,
longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such
there is no law".
Let us not grieve the Holy Spirit by committing sins.
Ephesians 4:30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto
the day of redemption.
If ever such a thing happens as is common to men, just as we are human, let us
confess our sins and revive ourselves to regain the fullness of the fruits of
the Spirit.

God is Trinity, the "Father",
the "Son", and "the Holy Spirit. They
co-exist, they are co-equal, and though their functions are different,
yet they are One God and not
three Gods. Jesus Christ is the "Son of
God" and he is the creator. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the very God
Himself, came to this world to redeem man kind from the bondage of sin.
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and
the Word was God.
"For there are three that bear witness in heaven, the Father, the Word,
and the Holy Spirit: and these three are one". 1 John 5:7
WHO IS JESUS CHRIST? The writer of Hebrews says that the Son is the exact
representation of God the Father and is the radiance of the God the Father. Who
is he that he is talking about? Yes! he is talking about our Lord and Savior
Jesus Christ. Who is Holy Spirit:
John 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter,
that he may abide with you for ever;
John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send
in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your
remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

Dear Friend,
Today is the day of salvation. Please confess your
sins to Jesus Christ and be blessed. Receive
Salvation and eternal life. Jesus is the Way, the
truth, and the life. Holy Bible says God created man, in his own image and named him as Adam and God put him in a very comfortable place called 'the garden of Eden' and gave him a wife, whom Adam named as Eve. God gave Adam and Eve all the freedom except for eating the forbidden fruit, which Eve and Adam ate and brought sin into this world. In order to redeem mankind from their sin God sent his one and only son, Jesus Christ, who died for our sake, was buried, rose from the dead and ascended in to heaven.

Praise ye the LORD. Praise ye the LORD from the
heavens: praise him in the heights. Praise ye him,
all his angels: praise ye him, all his hosts. Praise
ye him, sun and moon: praise him, all ye stars of
light.

Satan was NOT created by God. The anointed Cherubim
was created in perfection, and was most beautiful of
all the angelic creation, but he exalted himself
with pride to be equal with God and, therefore, God
found iniquity in Satan and cast him out of heaven.
He was called Lucifer, (Isaiah 14:12) son of
morning, so beautiful, yet he was cast down because
he was trying to equal God. Pride goes before fall.
In II Corinthians 11:14 he was called the "angel of
light".

wickedness shall correct you, and your backslidings

the Lord GOD of hosts.

The light of the city was like that of most precious
stone, the Japer stone, and clear as crystal. The
city had great and high wall with twelve gates, and
twelve angels at the twelve gates, and names of the
twelve tribes of the children of Israel, written on
the gates. The city has three gates on the east,
three gates on the north, three gates on the south,
and three gates on the west. The wall of the city
had twelve foundations, where the names of the
twelve apostles of the Lamb, were written. [......Street
