GOOD WORKS ON SABBATHY OF JESUS

Mark 2:23-28 And it came to pass, that he went through the grain fields on the sabbath day; and his disciples began, as they went, to pluck the ears of grain. And the Pharisees said unto him, Behold, why do they on the sabbath day that which is not lawful? And he said unto them, Have you never read what David did, when he had need, and was hungry, he, and they that were with him? How he went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and did eat the showbread, which is not lawful to eat except for the priests, and gave also to them who were with him? And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath: Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.

Mark 3:1-6 And he entered again into the synagogue; and there was a man there who had a withered hand. And they watched him, whether he would heal him on the sabbath day; that they might accuse him. And he said unto the man who had the withered hand, Stand forth. And he said unto them, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil? to save life, or to kill? But they held their peace. And when he had looked around at them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he said unto the man, Stretch forth your hand. And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as the other. And the Pharisees went forth, and immediately took counsel with the Herodians against him, how they might destroy him.

Brother/Sister,

The Pharisees always tried to accuse Jesus Christ and catch Him on the wrong point. They waited to see if He did any work on Sabbath, a day supposed to be the one of God. Jesus, knowing their wicked thoughts, healed on the Sabbath, a man who had withered hand. He not only healed the sick on the Sabbath, but also clarified the point that there is nothing wrong to do good on that day. He had also pointed out to them that when there was an emergency, David entered the house of God, when Abiathar was high priest, and ate the bread of the Presence, which it is not lawful for any but the priests to eat, and also gave it to those who were with him. The lessons, which Jesus had taught us, emphasize the fact that the law of Moses is not given for us to interpret it for bad purposes or for not taking it granted for negative use; we must behave discreetly when we encounter such situations.

If you have not accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Savior until now, it high time, you accepted Him as your Lord and Savior, in order that you may enter heaven. Please confess your sins to Him and be saved.

God bless you.
