JESUS LOVES YOU  CONFESS YOUR SINS TO HIM

HIS MIRACULOUS WAYS

Ever heard God achieving His purposes through meek of the world, foolish of the world, week of the world? When we read about Obadiah, we come to know that though he was insignificant in the sight of men, he achieved great purpose for Him. Just as a spider hid army personnel, who were believers, Obadiah too hid prophets and God’s children from the wrath of Jezebel, wife of King Ahab.

Eventhough we do not give much prominence to some stories that we read about miracles happening, we do certainly believe in miracles God did to save His children. Look at the way, He divided the Red Sea, in order to deliver Israelites from the hand of Pharaoh. Yes! We find several exemplary situations when God came out in miraculous way to help His children in times of their needs. He does not need a powerful army to save His children; His does not need great strength to bring His enemies to knees. A spider would do for Him to achieve His purpose.

Greater miracles are presented in Bible. The way the Jericho walls fell down, the way Gideon won wars, depict God’s help and care towards His children. Moses was a week person, yet he was greatly used by God. Similarly, Peter was a fisherman, yet God used him greatly.

An exemplary character, similar to that of a spider is portrayed in 1 Kings 18th Chapter. A man called Obadiah, a devout believer in the Lord, saving the lives of many believers. He is a servant of God and feared Him greatly from his youth. Obadiah, the governor of the house of the King Ahab, hid hundred prophets, while king’s wife, Jezebel, an ardent worshipper of idols, was busy sending out letters in the name of King Ahab and killing prophets. Jezebel not only worshipped idols, but she also made Ahab an idolater. Poor Ahab became prey in the hands of Jezebel, a consequence that he reaped for marrying her against the will of God.

In 1 Kings 18:4 we read, “while Jezebel was killing off the LORD's prophets, Obadiah had taken a hundred prophets and hidden them in two caves, fifty in each, and had supplied them with food and water.”

Obadiah hid hundred prophets in two caves, fifty in each, and as if that was not enough, he also fed them with food and water. During the days when food and drink were scarcely available for God’s children, Obadiah thought it not enough to hide them, but also took the responsibility of feeding them with food and water. Look at the way God raises up well wishers, friends and ministers for his people. God does not stop at that but He also provides shelter, food and water to His children, in difficult times, even where one would least expect them.

Now look at the way a harlot, by faith provides shelter, food and water for God’s children when they are in need.

“The city and all that is in it are to be devoted to the LORD. Only Rahab the prostitute and all who are with her in her house shall be spared, because she hid the spies we sent” Joshua 6:17

Rahab, the harlot had distinguished herself from her neighbors by the kindness she showed to Israel, by hiding the spies of Joshua, and she was, therefore, distinguished by Joshua in similar proportion. When the city was seized by Joshua and his army, she and all those with her were spared. Though she was a harlot, she was honored by God, and her name is mentioned in the Bible, in ten times in ten verses.

God blesses all those who work for Him.
Thanks be to God in the name of His Son Jesus Christ.

God bless you
