HIS OWN SON WAS SENT
"For God so loved the world, that
he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish,
but have everlasting life". John 3:16
His Own Son came to this World
And he began to tell the people this parable: “A man planted a vineyard, and let
it out to tenants, and went into another country for a long while. When the time
came, he sent a servant to the tenants, that they should give him some of the
fruit of the vineyard; but the tenants beat him, and sent him away empty-handed.
And he sent another servant; him also they beat and treated shamefully, and sent
him away empty-handed. And he sent yet a third; this one they wounded and cast
out.
Luke 20:9-19 Then began he to speak to the people this parable; A certain man
planted a vineyard, and let it out to tenants, and went into a far country for a
long time. And at the harvest season he sent a servant to the tenants, that they
should give him of the fruit of the vineyard: but the tenants beat him, and sent
him away empty. And again he sent another servant: and they beat him also, and
treated him shamefully, and sent him away empty. And again he sent a third: and
they wounded him also, and cast him out. Then said the lord of the vineyard,
What shall I do? I will send my beloved son: it may be they will respect him
when they see him. But when the tenants saw him, they reasoned among themselves,
saying, This is the heir: come, let us kill him, that the inheritance may be
ours. So they cast him out of the vineyard, and killed him. What therefore shall
the lord of the vineyard do unto them? He shall come and destroy these tenants,
and shall give the vineyard to others. And when they heard it, they said, God
forbid. And he beheld them, and said, What is this then that is written, The
stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner?
Whosoever shall fall upon that stone shall be broken; but on whomsoever it shall
fall, it will grind him to powder. And the chief priests and the scribes the
same hour sought to lay hands on him; and they feared the people: for they
perceived that he had spoken this parable against them.
Dear Friend,
Jews did not believe that Jesus was the Messsiah, the Son of God, who came to
this world to show them the way for obtaining Salvation. They were still waiting
for a "Messiah" to come in the form of a King. Jesus knowing their thoughts told
them this parable indicating to them how prophets came into this world and they
did not receive them; and lastly He Himself, the Son of God, came to this world
for the remission of their sins, yet they did not believe Him. He also meant
that inasmuch as they refused to accept Him as Savior He would give Gentiles the
privilege of obtaining Salvation.
God bless you
