PRAISE THE LORD

Psalm 148:1-14

Praise ye the LORD. Praise ye the LORD from the heavens: praise him in the heights. Praise ye him, all his angels: praise ye him, all his hosts. Praise ye him, sun and moon: praise him, all ye stars of light. Praise him, ye heavens of heavens, and ye waters that be above the heavens. Let them praise the name of the LORD: for he commanded, and they were created. He hath also stablished them for ever and ever: he hath made a decree which shall not pass. Praise the LORD from the earth, ye dragons, and all deeps: Fire, and hail; snow, and vapour; stormy wind fulfilling his word: Mountains, and all hills; fruitful trees, and all cedars: Beasts, and all cattle; creeping things, and flying fowl: Kings of the earth, and all people; princes, and all judges of the earth: Both young men, and maidens; old men, and children: Let them praise the name of the LORD: for his name alone is excellent; his glory is above the earth and heaven. He also exalteth the horn of his people, the praise of all his saints; even of the children of Israel, a people near unto him. Praise ye the LORD.

It is a great call to all creation to render their worship to the living God, who created heavens, earth, angels, animals, flying fowl, and creeping things by command. He took special care to create you and me.  The glory of God is seen in his creation, every where under the sun, under the water, and upon the earth, and, therefore, it is the duty of every creature, who is in communication with God, that they praise him and worship him. The angels, whom God created to worship him and to minister and guard us, according to his command, should praise God. The glory of God shines exuberantly in all his creation, therefore, every creation should praise him and worship him. Everything present in the different spheres of heavens, one from the face of the earth to up to the clouds, second from clouds to the regions where constellation is present, and third above it, which is an infinite space, where Almighty Gods abides, should praise God. The heavens are his abode, and the earth is his footstool.  The rain water in the region where clouds are present, should praise God. As we live in this sinful world, we seldom realize that there is far greater glory in the presence of God, where angels are praising him for ever and ever. We are, therefore, required to praise the living one and only God, through his son, Jesus Christ, the creator and our redeemer, in the best possible manner, and to the best of our capacity. Great whales, monsters, fire, hail, stormy wind, mountains, hills, are not excluded from praising and worshipping God: they are also required to worship God. When it comes to trees, the psalmist desires that fruitful trees worship God. How sad it is that unfruitful trees do not get the privilege of worshipping him.  In John 15:4 Lord Jesus Christ said, "Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me".  Kings and princes of his world should praise God for the greater privileges and blessings they received from God.  Young men and old men, children praise the Lord, for his name alone is worthy to be praised. The people of Israel, who are intimate to him and are chosen, should praise the name of the Lord, because they are endowed with blessings, and strength.

Let the name of the Lord be glorified. I praise you my Lord my God for the salvation you gave to me.

God bless
