The Teachings of Lord Jesus Christ – SALT

Message 2: Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men (Matthew 5:13)

Salt is used for seasoning curry and other cooked eatables. It is also used to preserve food from putrefaction. Without salt food tastes pungent and it is unpalatable. When salt loses its savor the usage of it is of no consequence. Similarly, when the Lord’s servants lose their worth as His followers and follow the worldly ways they rather become putrefying elements than of any use. Lord Jesus Christ says to His followers that they are like the salt of the earth. The Gospel writer says in Mark 9:50 if salt loses its saltiness, wherewith you would season it. He admonishes you to have salt in yourself and have peace with one another.
